Das Resultat klingt wie eine Mischung aus abstrakter experimenteller Musik und House, verbindet Performance-Kunst mit dem Prinzip des DJing. Er bringt unterschiedliche Techniken und selbst entwickelte Apparate zusammen. Kern des Ensembles sind die \u201eCrickets\u201c, kleine, im Raum verteilte, eigenst\u00e4ndige Klanggeneratoren, deren Programmierung sich mit der Zeit algorithmisch entwickelt. Wie Jon\u00e1\u0161 sagt: \u201eThey just do their thing\u2019\u201c. Ist das die k\u00fcnstliche Intelligenz? Die \u00fcberdimensionierte audiovisuelle Installation \u201ePleasant Places\u201c nimmt Landschaftsgem\u00e4lde von Vincent Van Gogh zum Ausgangspunkt. Deren Schauplatz fotografierte und digitalisierte Quayola und l\u00e4sst ihn in der Installation in abstrakte Formen und Kl\u00e4nge zerfallen. Quayolas Arbeiten zeugen von dem Zerbrechen der Welt in der digitalen Abtastung und von der seltsamen Sch\u00f6nheit, die dabei entsteht. Nicht ohne Grund ist der Ars Electronica-Preistr\u00e4ger einer der wichtigsten Vertreter der digitalen Kunst der Gegenwart.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>frameless 07 4.
